About the Event

Dr Naoki Yamamoto, an expert in Ottoman Sufism and Japanese culture, will explore Islam & spirituality and its impact on his Japanese identity. The talk will be followed by a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.

About the Speaker

Dr. Qayyim Naoki Yamamoto is currently an assistant professor at Graduate school of Turkic Studies, Marmara University. He completed his PhD at the Graduate School of Asia and Africa Studies, Kyoto University in 2018. Qayyim Naoki Yamamoto specializes in Ottoman Tasawwuf and traditional Japanese culture. His publications include a Japanese translation of Sulami’s Kitāb al-Futuwwa and Introduction to Tasawwuf: A Comparison with Shonen Manga (Shueisha Web Essay Series).

None, you must book per person. 

The minimum age to attend is 12, under 18s will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children’s tickets must be booked separately.

There is no public parking available on the College grounds. Paid parking on St Paul’s Road has a 4-hour time limit.

There is also a car park at Queen Anne’s Terrace which is a 6-minute walk away.
