The Trustees of Cambridge Muslim College are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Abdallah Rothman as Principal of the College.

Dr Rothman, a US citizen, is a leading exponent of psychological science as applied within Muslim contexts. He has held teaching posts at George Washington University (USA), Sabahettin Zaim University (Turkey), and the International Islamic University (Pakistan). Additionally, he has extensive higher education administrative experience from his five-year tenure at New York University (Abu Dhabi). His books and articles are a significant new force in their field. He is also active in interfaith dialogue.

Dr Rothman is currently Executive Director of the International Association of Islamic Psychology and is the founder of Shifaa Integrative Counselling. He has taught several short courses at Cambridge Muslim College over the past few years, and his daily online classes formed a vital and very popular component of the College’s Ramadan programme this year.

The Dean, Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad, said: ‘After five years we have succeeded in finding the ideal candidate to lead Cambridge Muslim College at this critical moment when we are doubling student numbers and launching ambitious new research programmes. I know that Dr Rothman will be a superb Principal and will play a vital role in shaping the new generation of Muslim leaders.
