Cambridge Muslim College is delighted to announce the launch of its new Classical Arabic (Part-Time, Online) programme – or Arabic Online – designed for those eager to begin learning Arabic but unable to commit to full-time, in-person study of an advanced nature.
Running over three terms from October 2025, the programme offers a steady and accessible learning pace through one two-hour online class per week. With a strong focus on grammar and reading comprehension – particularly of Qur’anic and classical texts – students will gradually build confidence in constructing basic sentences and understanding key grammatical structures such as case endings, plurals, and noun-adjective agreement.
Classes are capped at 15 students to ensure an engaging and focused learning environment, and classes will be held on either Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings (UK time). Alongside classes, students are expected to commit to regular homework and four hours of independent study each week. While the programme is part-time, consistent engagement is essential for progress.
Beyond language instruction, students will also enjoy exclusive benefits, including: lectures in Islamic Studies, free access to the College’s Online Learning Platform, access to research seminars online, and priority invitations to College events.
Please note: this programme is distinct from our one-year, full-time Classical Arabic programme, which is more advanced and has been designed to prepare students for our BA (Hons) Islamic Studies programme.
With limited spaces available, early application is strongly encouraged. Visit the Arabic Online programme webpage to learn more and apply.
