As we wrap up the first term at Cambridge Muslim College, we reflect on the experiences that have defined this period. Among the highlights was the recent student-organised A Night of Remembrance, where Shaykh Al-Kurdi led an evening of heartfelt Dhikr. We were also delighted to host the Islamic Society (ISOC) students from the University of Cambridge, who visited for a day of fellowship, Qur’anic recitations, and a tour of our college grounds, reinforcing the importance of community and shared learning.
Our campus also welcomed Shaykh Shams, Head Imam of Chelmsford Muslim Society, whose talk on the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) teaching methods inspired attendees with profound insights into the timeless relevance of the Sunnah in both academic and personal life. The collaborative Islam Day at Homerton College, University of Cambridge, where faculty and students led discussions on Islamic pedagogies, was another milestone in fostering intellectual exchange.
Finally, the Great Cambridge Muslim College Apple Bakeoff brought tasty treats to the menu, while school visits from Azhar Academy and Al-Hikmah School provided an opportunity for local students to engage with our academic and spiritual offerings. We are grateful for these moments of connection and look forward to building on them in the months ahead.
