Cambridge Muslim College is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Chaplaincy at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, formalised through a recently signed agreement.

Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is one of the UK’s leading teaching hospitals. Its Chaplaincy team plays a vital role in supporting patients, staff, and families of all faiths and none – providing pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and a compassionate presence at moments of greatest need.

Through this collaboration, students on the Contextual Islamic Studies and Leadership (CertHE) programme will undertake a Year-long Work Placement (20 credits) alongside the Chaplaincy team. Teaching has begun this term, with students due to start ward visits in January.

This partnership is a significant milestone in developing Muslim chaplaincy in the UK, particularly in healthcare settings where the demand for trained Muslim chaplains continues to grow. By training in a hospital that serves thousands of patients and staff every day, our students will gain invaluable experience of spiritual care in practice.

Applications are still open for 2025 entry.
