With the winter break concluded, the new academic term has begun at Cambridge Muslim College, and teaching resumed on 5 January 2026.
Students have returned to study across the College’s taught programmes, including the BA (Hons) in Islamic Studies, the Certificate of Higher Education in Contextual Islamic Studies and Leadership, the Postgraduate Certificate in Islam and Psychology, and the Classical Arabic provision. This term builds directly on work undertaken earlier in the academic year, allowing questions and themes from the previous term to deepen through sustained engagement with texts and structured learning.
Alongside this continuity, the term includes several defined academic commitments. Students on the Classical Arabic programme are undertaking a four-week period of immersive study in Morocco, strengthening language proficiency through daily use and extended exposure. At the same time, students on the Contextual Islamic Studies and Leadership programme will begin chaplaincy placements at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, applying their academic learning within a clinical setting. This marks the first cohort to do so under the recently signed agreement between Cambridge Muslim College and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Teaching is complemented by a programme of guest lectures and academic development sessions, while daily lunches shared by staff and students have also resumed following the winter break. Through this steady pattern of teaching, study, and shared time, academic life at the College continues to take shape over the course of the term.
