Cambridge Muslim College recently hosted a special iftar evening in London, The Beauty of Arabic: A Linguistic Exploration of Selected Verses & Surahs, delivered by Dr Aaminah Patel in collaboration with Ramadan Space.

Guests from across the community gathered to break their fast in warm and welcoming surroundings, before enjoying a thought-provoking lecture by CMC Arabic Programme Lead, Dr Aaminah Patel, exploring the depth, precision, and beauty of the Arabic language.

The iftar featured an eclectic and generous spread, with a wide selection of both sweet and savoury dishes. Guests enjoyed an array of desserts including pistachio kunafa, brownies, and chocolate cakes topped with pomegranate and nuts, alongside biscuits and other homemade treats.

The event sparked intense interest among all attendees, reflecting the enduring relevance and beauty of Arabic in both academic and devotional contexts.

We are grateful to Ramadan Space for their collaboration, and extend our sincere thanks to the team and volunteers whose efforts made the evening possible.

Applications for the Classical Arabic programme (September 2026 entry) are now open. Explore the programme and begin your journey into the beauty of the Arabic language.
