Cambridge Muslim College was honoured to host Shaykh Shams for an exclusive talk that left attendees inspired and reflective. The Shaykh shared profound insights into the timeless wisdom of the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) teaching methods, emphasising their relevance not only in academia but also in everyday life.
Shaykh Shams highlighted how the Prophet’s interactions were a beacon of kindness and understanding, reaching people of all ages and backgrounds. He reminded us that the Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them) did not learn in the structured classrooms we are familiar with today. Instead, much of their learning came from observing his impeccable character—his patience, mercy, and unwavering integrity.
Parents, educators, and mentors were encouraged to take inspiration from this holistic approach, ensuring that teaching is rooted in compassion and wisdom. By embodying the Sunnah in our interactions, we can nurture a generation that learns not just through words, but by witnessing the beauty of Islamic character in action.
This talk served as a powerful reminder that the most profound lessons often come from how we are, not just what we say.
