Cambridge Muslim College recently concluded a landmark tour of Malaysia, involving a series of important engagements that underscored our dedication to fostering dialogue and promoting Islamic scholarship on a global scale.

 

The tour included a keynote speech at the prestigious Madani Lecture series, where Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad, our Founder and Chair of the Board of Trustees, sat on a panel chaired by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia. The keynote speech integrated the principles of fiqh al-ta’ayush, offering strategies for coexistence amidst the complex challenges of modern times.

 

The trip continued with a session at the Khazanah Research Institute, titled Training Future Scholars and Imams in Today’s Fast Changing World: The Cambridge Muslim College Model,” led by Dr Yunus Yasin, Founder & President of the Association of Science, Technology and Innovation (ASTI). This presentation highlighted our College’s pioneering educational methodologies, particularly focusing on our Diploma in Islamic Psychology, which is open to international students, mirroring our commitment to integrating traditional scholarship with contemporary relevance.

 

The tour concluded with a Halaqa at Tirtha Quddus in Janda Baik. Here, Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad delivered a talk on ‘Finding Beauty in Truth.’, and volunteered at the sustainable sanctuary, planting trees as a symbol of our commitment to ecological stewardship and sustainability.
