We are delighted to announce that admissions are now open for our Islam & Psychology (formerly known as the Diploma in Islamic Psychology) programme. This innovative 1-year online programme is designed to offer students a deep dive into both contemporary and classical perspectives of psychology, grounded in the Islamic tradition.

The programme is subject to significant developments, including:

  • Islamic Psychology will henceforth be known as Islam and Psychology
  • The slight change in name is as this programme is now subject to validation by The Open University, the process of which should be complete prior to the start of the 2025-26 academic year this September
  • As such, students graduating from 2026 onwards – i.e. beginning with the Class of 2026 – will do so with an internationally recognised qualification, a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PgCert HE)
  • 30 places are now available and applications from non-practitioners in associated/relevant fields will be considered – see ‘Entry Requirements’ on programme page linked below for further information.

Prospective students will be heartened to know that there will be no changes to the programme itself, its content or mode of delivery. It remains rooted in providing a comprehensive understanding of psychology through an Islamic lens. Students will continue to explore the intersections of classical Islamic philosophical, theological, and medicinal paradigms with modern psychological theories, offering a distinctive approach to understanding human nature.

The programme is delivered online over three terms, combining live lectures, seminars, and case study sessions, designed to engage students in both academic inquiry and personal development. With a cohort size limited to 30 students, this programme offers a unique learning experience that fosters community and reflection.

Admissions are now open for the 2025-26 academic year. Application deadline: Friday, 28th March 2025.
